Band 5 Acute Locum Occupational Therapist Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 08:00–16:00 Hours: 37.5 hours per week Band: 5 About the Role * We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Band 5 Occupational Therapist to join the Occupational Therapy Department at Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) for a short-term assignment. * This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a busy emergency department, supporting patients in achieving safe and timely discharge while promoting independence and recovery. Key Responsibilities * Assess, treat, and discharge patients from the emergency department. * Undertake comprehensive functional and environmental assessments. * Develop and implement tailored treatment and discharge plans. * Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure effective and efficient patient care. * Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with professional and Trust standards. Essential Requirements * Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy. * Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). * Experience in acute or emergency care settings. * Strong communication and organisational skills. * Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Desirable * NHS experience in emergency, acute, or discharge planning services. * Knowledge of community pathways and rapid discharge processes
