In your role as a Kitchen Assistant at HC-One, you'll value one thing above all: Kindness. It carries across every aspect of our Dementia, Nursing, Residential and Specialist care homes. Every person who works here understands that our Residents are people just like them with their own stories to tell. By joining HC-One, you'll have a wonderful opportunity to give something back to those people.
As a Kitchen Assistant, you will help prepare and serve nutritious, healthy meals that our residents will love. You'll demonstrate high standards in cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene. Whether maintaining food supplies and fridge/freezer temperatures, showing new starters how to use equipment, or cleaning spills, you'll always prioritize Resident wellbeing.
HC-One is looking for a Kitchen Assistant with some kitchen experience. It is essential that you have either an NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation or the willingness to study for one. Good record-keeping and organizational skills are important, as is the ability to follow recipes. When communicating with Residents or colleagues, kindness and consideration are key.
Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. It is important that you can recognize signs of abuse, harm, or neglect and know what actions to take if concerns arise. All colleagues are required to attend safeguarding training relevant to their role and to undertake additional training as needed. You should also be able to seek advice and report concerns appropriately, escalating issues if necessary.
We will provide full training, offering a great opportunity to learn new skills. In return, you'll have access to a wide range of benefits and support to promote your well-being, including:
* Hourly rate subject to experience and qualifications
* Paid Enhanced DBS/PVG
* Free uniform
* A nutritious meal during shifts of eight hours or more
* Company pension scheme
* 28 days of annual leave, inclusive of bank holidays
* Group life assurance
* Wagestream for flexible pay access
* Learning and development opportunities, including qualifications
* GP online service for you and your children under 16
* Learning from experienced colleagues in a supportive team
* Colleague discounts at over 1600 high street stores
* Confidential Employee Assistance Programme for physical, mental, and financial support
* Recognition schemes like Kindness in Care and Long Service Awards
* Refer a friend scheme with rewards up to £1000 per referral
