Leading a production team in a culture of plan attainment, safety, accountability and continuous improvement. Specific Tasks Responsible for the overall management of day-to-day production across the production facility including raw materials, planning, production, and dispatch. Monitors KPI’s including yields, output, downtime and labour costs with strategies to improve. Monitor and manage the realisation of the lead/ delivery times ensuring that all products are produced on time, in full and are of exceptional quality ensuring cost effectiveness. Work closely with the Production managers and team to perform analysis of our inventory and ensure we are utilising our inventory effectively, purchasing the right materials, maintaining solid inventory data, and reducing expense. Identify and drive forward any actions for continuous change and improvement. Investigate methods of improving product quality and customer satisfaction. Perform duties such as recruiting, selecting, scheduling, counselling and disciplining employees. Ensure optimal and effective capacity and labour planning, review performance & identify training needs for all production colleagues. Costs/budget management to maintain cost effective production, reporting regularly to management team to achieve KPIs and functional objectives. Regular reporting of KPIs and contribution to daily management meetings Perform financial predictions by preparing the annual budgets, scheduling expenditures, analysing variance and initiating corrective actions. Develop operations policies by evaluating and enforcing policies for products and inventory receipts. Ensure compliance with laws and regulations. Develop and implement annual plan. Follow the market developments and share these with relevant stakeholders. Follow up incidents and complaints and investigate the causes and advise on improvements. Provide direction, leadership, development, and support to direct reports. Work with the wider team to implement the company's policies and goals; and ensure that Health & Safety guidelines are followed. Develop, promote & support Continuous Improvement & other cross functional initiatives. Ensure reporting Managers are working towards agreed KPI’s with their teams (Staffing, costs, absences, skills etc) Oversee training and development plans for Managers and Supervisors Mentor senior production managers when implementing continuous improvement for new and improved manufacturing processes and procedures. Maintain and exceed exceptional standards of hygiene in production areas. Ensure you and others understand and adhere to relevant Health & Safety and Factories legislation required of the industry. Support in other projects or duties within reason and capability associated within this role. Ability to be flexible and adapt to change as required. Requirements Demonstrated experience of production, preferably within a fast-paced food production industry. Proven experience of managing and motivating a team to consistently achieve KPI targets. Qualification in relevant field would be advantageous. Strong knowledge and working experience of Health & Safety Legislation and practices. Experience of driving continuous improvement Proficient in Microsoft 365 and use of Enterprise Resource Planning software e.g. SAP. Good analytical skills in data control and understanding of production processes. Good problem-solving techniques and understanding of lean manufacturing. Demonstrates behaviour aligned with company leadership principles. Works collaboratively with others, seeks to understand different perspectives and include others
