Engineering Contracts Manager
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Contracts Manager to join our Estates and Asset Management team. The organisation oversees a large, diverse, andplex operational estateprising hundreds of buildings that support a wide range of activities, from research and innovation to day‑to‑day operations.This role is central to ensuring that maintenance delivery contracts are strategically planned,mercially robust, and effectively managed. You will help safeguard a multi‑billion‑pound estate and contribute to long‑term sustainability and operational excellence.
Key ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you will:
1. Lead the development of contract strategies, aligning multi‑year maintenance frameworks with organisational asset and sustainability objectives.
2. Manage the full contract lifecycle, including tendering, evaluation, award, administration, and closeout.
3. Negotiate high‑value engineering contracts and resolvemercial disputes while ensuringpliance with public sector procurement regulations.
4. Monitor contractor performance against SLAs and KPIs, driving accountability, value for money, and continuous improvement.
5. Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to influencemercial oues and ensure strong risk management.
6. Champion process improvement,ernance, and the use of digital tools to enhance contract management.
7. Provide training, mentoring, and guidance on best practice contract management principles andpliance.
About YouWe are looking for someone who brings:
8. Proven experience managing maintenance contracts across multi‑building estates, including mechanical and electrical systems.
9. Strong knowledge of contract frameworks such as NEC and JCT, and familiarity with SLAs, KPIs, and risk‑reward mechanisms.
10. Excellent negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to manageplex stakeholder relationships.
11. A proactive approach to risk management,pliance, and problem‑solving in a dynamic environment.
12. Strong analytical and report‑writing skills, with the ability to interpret data and support strategic decision‑making.
13. A relevant degree or equivalent experience; professional qualifications (, IOSH, NEBOSH, IWFM) are desirable.
