Summary of Role
The Alliance of Media Independents (AMI) is seeking a proactive and relationship-focused Membership Manager to champion one of the most vibrant communities in the UK's media landscape. Bringing together independent, channel-neutral media planning and buying agencies, this role sits at the heart of AMI's mission to empower members, foster collaboration, and amplify their collective voice.
You will be building meaningful connections across a diverse membership, supporting our specialist action groups, and ensuring that agencies gain maximum value from being part of the Alliance. From coordinating initiatives that shape industry best practice to facilitating knowledge-sharing between peers, you will be central to the growth and success of this thriving network.

Key Responsibilities

Group Administration & Support
• Provide robust administrative support to specialist action groups within AMI, ensuring meetings are well-planned, agendas clear, actions tracked, and outputs shared promptly.

Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among group members.
• Member Engagement & Enablement
• Act as the main point of contact for all AMI member agencies, responding quickly to queries and offering solutions.
• Foster a peer-to-peer environment by encouraging knowledge-sharing and cross-agency support.
• Regularly gather and relay member feedback to inform AMI initiatives.
• Community & Network Coordination
• Help organise internal community events, learning sessions, and collaboration opportunities to support the professional growth of members at all levels.
• Work closely with the wider Alliance team for event logistics, marketing communications, and development of new partnerships.

Reporting & Impact Measurement
• Maintain up-to-date records of agency membership, action group activity, and participation.
• Produce concise activity and engagement reports for AMI and the Alliance leadership.
Qualifications & Experience
• Direct experience in a media agency or media owner environment, with a hands-on understanding of independent agency operations and challenges.
• Demonstrated strength in administration and project coordination.
• Highly organised, strong attention to detail, proactive and solution-focused.
• Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
• Collaborative approach comfortable working with Alliance colleagues to support broader community goals.
• Resourceful, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks and deadlines.
The Membership Manager will work alongside colleagues from the wider
Alliance of Independent Agencies,
who provide additional resources for event planning, marketing, and partnership activities.
Working Environment & Benefits
• Reports directly to the Managing Director, with regular interaction across the senior team
• Salary of £40,000 plus enrolment in a company-wide bonus scheme
• Up to 2 working days per week in our Central London office, with flexibility depending on event schedules
