Quality Engineer, Fabrication A&P Tyne
In this role you will play a key role as part of our team who make sure we consistently deliver work that meets our rigorous quality and customer standards. This is an opportunity to make a significant impact on our fabrication work, part of a project of national significance, while working with and learning from a team of experts.
We're launching a new 12 month project that will be both challenging and demanding so need clear descriptions, detailed lists of inspections and tests, identification of who will perform inspections and tests, schedules, acceptance criteria and outlines of how results will be documented and reported.
Who are A&P Tyne?
With the largest fabrication facilities on the East coast of England, we can built units for vessels, and also joining them together. Within our 24,000 square metre Fabrication Hall, where your projects will be based, we have a high bay construction hall for our new builds, a panel line, profile cutting and sub-assembly areas.
Using in-house capabilities to maintain tight project control we work closely together with our customers to deliver what they need, as they need it, when they need it.
So what will you do?
* Quality Assurance, Compliance, Clear Communication
* Review client IP to determine quality requirements like material grade, welding process, NDE requirements, intervention points, acceptance criteria, verifying records and any stipulated intervention points
* Develop, manage and update inspection test plans for projects looking at Scope of Work, Inspection and Test Activities, Responsible Parties, Frequency of Inspections, Documentation and Acceptance Criteria
* Ensure all reports generated during manufacturing process are completed, building the manufacturing record books
* Collaborate with our project team to ensure the ITPs (control plans) are aligned with requirements
* Conduct surveillance tours of the units at our Tyne facility to flag any quality concerns
* Work with the team to resolve identified quality issues
* Attend and contribute within project progress and quality meetings
And what are we looking for?
* A degree or equivalent in Engineering or a related field
* Experience in quality engineering and inspection plan creation and management
* Technical expertise and knowledge of heavy fabrication processes, materials, and industry standards with a keen eye for detail and understanding of the importance of quality
* In-depth knowledge of quality standards and regulations
* Organisation, communication, and diplomacy skills developed through both working on projects and within teams
* IT skills with various Microsoft packages such as Pro, Word, and Excel.

You must also undergo a Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check before your employment starts, which will include a basic DBS check.
