An established international chemical manufacturing business is looking to appoint an ACA qualified Financial Controller to lead the finance function at its Northumberland site.
Reporting into the US head office, this is a key leadership role with full ownership of manufacturing finance – from inventory and cost of goods sold through to financial reporting and operational cost insight within a complex production environment.
🔍 What you’ll be doing:
• Leading monthly inventory and COGS reporting, including variance analysis and trend insights
• Overseeing inventory valuation, reserves, and fixed asset accounting
• Partnering with Operations & Supply Chain to analyse manufacturing, distribution, and logistics costs
• Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and standard costing processes
• Managing VAT, tax provisions, and UK statutory audits
• Driving financial controls and continuous process improvement
• Leading, mentoring, and developing the finance team
✅ What we’re looking for:
• ACA qualified
• 5+ years’ experience in manufacturing cost accounting
• Strong SAP Manufacturing knowledge and advanced Excel skills
• Proven business partnering experience with manufacturing teams
• Strong analytical mindset with clear communication and leadership capability
• Previous people management experience
