Project Estimator (Aerospace)
Welwyn Garden City, Days Only (Mon‑Fri).
Key Responsibilities
* Develop NPI projects with all relevant departments and manage projects through to successful completion.
* Support commercial requirements of the department and other departments.
* Produce estimates, technical and manufacturing proposals to support bids and new business development.
* Evaluate and analyze customer datasets, specifications and supply documentation to identify raw material, bought‑out and subcontract requirements.
* Coordinate with Engineering, Operations and Purchasing teams to prepare competitive proposals.
* Provide leadership to drive improvements and changes.
* Ensure engineering and quality requirements for products are met.
* Produce weekly and monthly quotation status reports.
* Chase outstanding quotations via the Account Management Team.
* Produce and update monthly KPIs; take action to achieve targets.
* Develop, implement and sustain a safe working culture in accordance with H&S requirements.
* Collaborate with other leaders and functions; support customer visits as required.
* Ensure safe work environment; report deviations from H&S good practice immediately.
* Preserve close collaborative relationships with all departments.
* Assist team with ad‑hoc duties as required.
Person Specification
* Experience understanding technical drawings and BOMs, extracting processes and materials for quotation.
* Experience in estimating and quotation work.
* Solid understanding of engineering principles.
* Knowledge of health and safety requirements in manufacturing.
* Strong report writing and presentation skills.
Desirable
* Engineering qualification.
* Operational qualification.
* Manufacturing aerospace industry experience.
* Knowledge of inspection procedures and standards.
* Knowledge of Aventa or similar.
* MS Project and Visio skills.
