Service Coordinator
Location: Ballymena, Northern Ireland (covering 3 sites in Ballymena and Antrim)
Contract: Initially 3 months
Hours: 37 hours per week
Rate: £21/hour (umbrella) (£17 PAYE an hour)
🔍 About the Role: Join Action for Children as a Service Coordinator and help transform the lives of children and families across Ballymena and Antrim. Based within the Ballymena & Little Steps Sure Start programme, you will lead a multi-agency, multi-disciplinary team delivering services to children from pre-birth up to four years old, as well as their parents and carers.
This is a vital leadership role where you will coordinate Parenting Support Services, manage one of our key service sites, and ensure high standards in safeguarding, health and safety, and childcare legislation.
🌟 Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead, manage, and motivate the Family Support Team to deliver impactful early intervention services
2. Coordinate parenting support programmes across three sites
3. Oversee day-to-day operations at a designated Sure Start site, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and safety regulations
4. Work in partnership with statutory, voluntary, and community organisations to ensure holistic and effective support
5. Provide direct supervision and coaching to team members, ensuring best practice
6. Maintain a safe, inclusive, and outcomes-focused environment for children and families
7. Drive service quality through casework oversight, audits, and planning
✅ What We're Looking For:
8. Significant experience supporting children, young people, and families (ideally 0–4 years) in a multi-agency setting
9. Strong understanding of childcare legislation and safeguarding policies
10. Proven ability to lead a team, manage caseloads, and delegate work effectively
11. Experience in strategic planning, performance delivery, and stakeholder collaboration
12. Confidence in managing service sites, including health and safety and property oversight
13. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
14. A commitment to early years development and family support
