Outwood Grange Academies Trust is seeking a Student Support Role – SEND Officer to support the Inclusion team at Outwood Academy Hemsworth.

Job Description
Full time with part time considered.
About The Role
You will contribute to the daily support of the school and ensure all pupils are catered for during their time in our setting. You will work alongside the Lead SENDCo for the Wakefield community and the SENDCo based within the Academy.
You must possess the skills and determination to make a significant difference to the lives of our students and share our single goal of ‘Students First, raising standards and transforming lives’. Experience working with vulnerable young people and an enthusiasm to innovate in the SEND landscape is essential.
The successful candidate needs to be extremely well organised, prioritise workload, meet strict deadlines and adhere to the SEND Code of Practice. You will work with the most vulnerable children, deal with challenges presented by students, work with parents and external agencies in a professional, prompt and confidential manner, take initiative, serve as a role model and effectively manage others.
You will have a good understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and Looked After Children guidance. Experience of working with students with SEND is essential as is the ability to produce strategies and interventions to assist our more vulnerable students achieve their full potential.
