SEND Assistant
Due to expansion, an Independent School in Gainsborough require a SEND ASSISTANT to work alongside the school SENCO, ensuring that needs are met for the children with adverse childhood experiences who attend the school. This role involves ensuring careful attention is paid to the administrative processes involved with caring for children with complex emotional needs and that all children are safeguarded. You will also have responsibilities for building theraputic relationships with the children attending the school and being the main support for the schools current SENCO, involved in reviewing EHCP’s and ensuring all children have the right support package.
The school predominantly cater for children aged 7-11 who have social, emotional and mental health needs. This role requires a high level of resilience, patience and empathy for those who can show dysregulated behaviours and have trauma responses. This is a highly supportive work environment and you will have the full support of the wider team, an expert care team and exceptional senior leadership.
The working hours for this role are 08:30 – 16:30 Monday to Wednesday and 08:30 – 15:00 on Thursdays and Fridays. Please be aware, this is a full time role where you are required to work Monday to Friday each week and due to the level of consistency needed for these children, we are unable to offer a part time option at this time. This is a permenant role, subject to successful completion of a 12 – 16 week probation through Milk Education. The daily pay rate is £129.00 per day – equivilent to an annual salary of £25,139.00 and we are inviting applications from individuals who have previous experience in an administrative send role or pastoral support. Start dates available range from immediately and will extend into March and beyond.
