Overview
Staff Nurse - Orthopaedic / Fracture clinic
Location: Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Royal Albert Edward Infirmary, Wigan
Responsibilities
* Provide high standard of care to adults and children with Trauma and Orthopaedic injuries in a clinic setting.
* Participate in and assist with new developments including the nurse-led dressing clinic and the virtual clinic.
* Uphold the NMC Code of Conduct and adhere to Trust policies and procedures.
* Communicate effectively with all members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and high-quality care.
* Assess, plan, implement treatment and care in an outpatient setting.
Qualifications and Experience
* Essential: Registered Nurse (RGN), basic education (Maths and English), recent CPD; experience working independently and as part of a team; knowledge of current clinical and professional issues; ability to communicate in English to an appropriate standard.
* Desirable: Degree or diploma; tissue viability course; orthopaedic course; post-qualification experience; some knowledge of trauma and orthopaedics and wound care.
Knowledge and Skills
* Essential: Update knowledge of current clinical and professional issues; excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
* Desirable: Basic computer skills (HIS).

* Band: Band 5
* Salary: £31,049 to £37,796 per annum, pro rata
* Contract: Secondment
