Head of Hardware
As the selected Head of Hardware, you’ll lead an expert team and oversee the design, architecture and delivery of multi-award-winning communication products supplied globally to a client base across private sector security to through defence and government.
Responsibilities for the role of Head of Hardware will include:
* Manage and guide a talented team of electronic engineers to deliver innovative solutions.
* Create an environment with a focus on delivery, ownership and driving high performance.
* Provide technical input directly to projects.
* Coordinate with project managers and department heads to ensure resources are effectively allocated.
* Liaise with the CTO and Product Managers to support delivery of the product strategy roadmap and create the electronics roadmap.
* Set and review objectives for the engineering teams to help them grow and achieve their full potential.
* Ensure that the skills and experience of the electronics teams is mapped and is consistent with the technological and business needs.
* Lead a culture of continuous improvement across the development teams.
As the Head of Hardware, your background will include:
* Hardware Development: You will come from an electronics background with extensive experience of hardware-based development projects from concept through to delivery.
* Hardware Architecture: You will have a good understanding of hardware systems and architecture’
* Decision Making: Able to demonstrate examples of taking responsibility for making pragmatic decisions.
* Problem Solving: You will be experienced in delivering solutions to complex problems through a logical process and well versed in the practice of change management.
* Team Leadership & Management: Team leadership and interpersonal skills are essential including recruitment, mentoring & coaching.
* Priorities and Collaboration: You should be able to demonstrate a track record in setting and managing priorities, articulating and gaining engagement for ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
* Integration: You will be experienced working cross functionally with Software, Project Management & other technical teams and have a system-wide knowledge of delivering products.
* Communication: You have a demonstrable ability to communicate in a variety of formats at all levels with an appreciation of target audience.
* Strategy & Planning: You are able to create development strategies and deliver them through clear plans and efficient execution.

Salary is up to £110,000 plus a strong benefit package.
