Job Summary

Are you a technically curious problem‑solver who wants their work to make a real difference to patient care? Join Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust (RCHT) as a Systems Administrator and Configuration Technician within our CITS team, and play a vital role in supporting our colleagues at both RCHT and Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (CFT) by keeping their clinical systems reliable, secure, and fit for the future. In this hands‑on role you will support and maintain a variety of clinical and corporate IT systems that are critical to the day‑to‑day running of CFT’s hospitals and services. From system improvements to troubleshooting incidents and supporting upgrades, your work will directly enable clinicians and staff to deliver safe, effective care. You will work closely with clinical teams, digital specialists and external suppliers to ensure that systems are configured accurately, perform optimally and comply with NHS information‑governance and cybersecurity standards. This is an excellent opportunity to grow your career in healthcare IT, gain exposure to clinical systems and work in an organisation where technology truly matters. At RCHT you will be supported to develop your skills, contribute ideas and be part of a collaborative team dedicated to improving care for our local community.

Main Duties

* Support, configure and maintain multiple Trust systems in line with change‑management processes, contractual requirements and national standards, including system upgrades, new releases and configuration changes, and produce detailed solution plans outlining implementation steps and associated risks.
* Participate in system testing, troubleshooting and quality assurance of enhancements, upgrades and configuration changes to ensure systems remain safe, reliable and fit for clinical use.
* Support meetings and user groups as requested, contributing to the identification, validation and quality assurance of system development and update requirements.
* Develop and maintain support procedures, documentation, user guides and FAQs to enable consistent and effective system support.
* Attend Trust and Digital Services meetings as required, representing the team where appropriate.
* Work flexibly, including outside standard hours when required, to support the operational needs of Trust clinical systems.
