Druglink is a substance misuse charity based in Hertfordshire. Our objective is to change the future for people who are, or could be, affected by substance misuse. We achieve this through addiction treatment, housing solutions, education and training. Druglink are leading experts in drug and alcohol education. Our aim is to educate and work towards reducing drug and alcohol harms to individuals and the community.
About the role
Druglink are looking for a committed and experienced individual to lead our Diversion and Education service, which aim to prevent offending, reduce harm, and support positive futures for individuals coming into contact with the criminal justice system.
The Diversion and Education Manager will oversee the delivery, development and impact of a range of early intervention programmes including out-of-court disposals, educational workshops, and support pathways for individuals identified through police referrals or at-risk environments. The successful candidate will provide leadership, drive sales and ensure team targets are achieved. The position involves stakeholder management, including building relationships with police forces and external partners, and contributing to service improvement projects. Additionally, the role requires managing the Diversion Scheme's database and systems, leading program evaluations, contributing to new business initiatives, and ensuring team training and development align with best practices.

The role and responsibilities
Team and Service Management
* Oversee daily operations of the Diversion Team to drive sales and ensure efficient service delivery.
* Oversee service budget, regularly tracking project expenditures and financial performance to ensure adherence to established budgets, implementing corrective measures as necessary to meet financial targets and maximise resource allocation.
* Provide leadership and support, ensuring team goals and targets are met.
* Conduct annual appraisals with staff to assess performance and development.
Reporting and Analysis
* Develop and maintain monthly reports on referrals, trends, and key metrics, highlighting areas of concern or good practice.
* Produce quarterly performance reports for police forces, the leadership team and trustees, summarising outcomes and trends.
Course Coordination and Delivery
* Organise and schedule diversion courses by liaising with trainers and venues (where appropriate).
* Create and manage Zoom links for online courses, ensuring all participants and facilitators have access.
Stakeholder Management and Networking
* Build and maintain strong relationships with police forces and other external partners.
* Contribute to transformation projects aimed at improving service delivery.
* Travel across the UK for meetings with police forces may be required.
System and Database Management
* Develop and maintain Diversion Scheme database, e-learning platform and virtual networks.
* Monitor the efficiency of these systems and databases to ensure they remain fit for purpose and meet service needs.
* Generate reports and troubleshoot system issues by working with support teams.
Scheme Evaluation and Development
* Lead Diversion Scheme evaluations through course feedback and data analysis to demonstrate effectiveness.
* Contribute to the development of new business initiatives and manage relationships with partners.
Training and Development
* Undertake necessary training/ refresher courses to promote best practices across the scheme.
* Support training efforts for team members and participate in corporate Druglink activities.
Person specification
Essential Qualifications and Skills
* Minimum 3 years’ experience in sales, service or programme management and delivery, professional development, or diversion strategies.
* At least 3 years of leadership experience, managing teams and overseeing large-scale projects or programs.
* Experience with budget management and resource allocation.
* Skilled in service monitoring, data analysis and reporting to external stakeholders.
* Experience in stakeholder management, confident in partnership working
* Ability to use and manage digital platforms, databases, and virtual networks.
* Flexible approach, skilled at working in a fast-paced environment and juggling multiple priorities.
* Ability to work collaboratively and sensitively with staff, customers and clients. Able to work within a team, considering the needs and perspectives of others.
* Excellent organisational and communication skills.
* Clear understanding of safeguarding and risk management in a support setting.
* Ability to think strategically, manage change and drive improvement.
* Committed to promoting equality and diversity, rights and responsibilities.
* Experience delivering or overseeing educational or psychoeducational programmes.
* Knowledge of substance misuse, trauma-informed practice, or restorative approaches.
* Awareness and empathy of problems related to drugs and alcohol. Committed to Druglink’s vision, mission, values and goals.
* Understanding of data protection regulations.
* A track record of profile raising and income generation.
* Willingness to undertake professional qualifications if required.
* Experience of developing and maintaining networks locally and nationally.
* Highly organised, efficient, and reliable with attention to detail.
* Understanding of confidentiality and data protection protocols.
* Eagerness to learn new skills and adapt to evolving demands
Additional information
* This role requires an enhanced DBS check.
* Occasional evening or weekend work and travel across service area may be required.
