Bournemouth & Poole College is recruiting a Bar & Restaurant Supervisor on a part time, term time only basis. Salary: competitive full time equivalent salary of £24,263 per annum (£17,076 per annum including holiday uplift) + Shift Allowance. You will be employed through Southern Educational Professional Services Ltd; a subsidiary of the College.

The Bar & Restaurant Supervisor Role
As the Bar & Restaurant Supervisor, you will oversee the operational and administrative aspects of the bar and restaurant areas within the college's Escoffier restaurant. The position will include instructing and supporting learners in practical training and using various assessment methods to support and develop students' learning.
Responsibilities
* Provide supervision, practical instruction and guidance in areas where skills training and practice takes place, ensuring Health and Safety regulations are adhered to in the provision of a safe working environment.
* Liaise with academic staff to report on the conduct, progress and achievements of students.
* Developing and agreeing plans for learning and assessment with candidates including the identification of different needs.
* Review candidate progress including reinforcement of Health and Safety, Equal Opportunities, career aims and progression.
* Identify additional learning needs and communicate findings to the relevant Team Leader.
* Facilitate relevant underpinning knowledge to fill candidate skills gaps as appropriate.
* Undertake responsibilities for bar and cashier duties and ensure the correct procedures are adhered to and all monies are secured for banking.
* Take responsibilities for restaurant reservations in order to maximise sales.
Qualifications
* Level 2 (or equivalent) English and Maths
* Teaching Qualification or willingness to achieve within 2 years
* Level 2 Hospitality and Catering
* Level 2 Food Hygiene
* Industrial experience in a quality restaurant establishment
* Knowledge of the Hospitality Industry in particular food and beverage service
* Communication skills including written and verbal
