Salary: Grade 13 FTE £25,989 - £28,142 Actual £21,685 - £23,481
Prospero Teaching is working closely with a secondary school in Taunton who are seeking a committed and proactive School Engagement Officer to join their Student Services team. This is a student-facing role focused on safeguarding, attendance, and engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the development and implementation of attendance strategies, including home visits and liaison with families
* Lead individual and group interventions to improve student attendance and punctuality
* Prioritise support for disadvantaged students and those with persistent absence
* Act as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, maintaining high standards of safeguarding practice
* Collaborate with teaching, pastoral, and external teams to support student welfare
* Monitor attendance data, complete statutory returns, and maintain accurate records
* Promote positive attitudes toward learning, behaviour, and attendance
* Uphold school policies including safeguarding, health & safety, and data protection
Ideal Candidate:
* Experience working with young people in education, youth work, or social care
* Strong understanding of safeguarding and attendance legislation
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively
* Committed to inclusion, equality, and diversity
* Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the update service (Or willing to apply for one!)
