Currently within the team we have Nurses (RMN and RNC), Social Workers, Occupational Therapists and we would welcome clinicians from a wide range of professional backgrounds with experience of managing Children and Young people in crisis. The role is focused on urgent mental health risk assessment and management, involving collaboration with other agencies as part of safety planning. A large part of the team’s work is with acute trusts in supporting young people who are admitted and need support while plans are put in place for their safe transition to the community.
The team operate 24/7, full shift rotation of days and nights. Shifts can be over long days, earlies, lates and nights. There is opportunity to discuss flexible working options with the right candidate.

Main duties of the job
The role is focused on urgent mental health risk assessment and management, involving collaboration with other agencies as part of safety planning. A large part of the team’s work is with acute trusts in supporting young people who are admitted and need support while plans are put in place for their safe transition to the community.
In addition, the success applicant will be expected to manage the crisis team phone line and any referrals or escalations. They would support the junior members of the team by chair the safety huddles and MDT's and support with decision making and sign-posting. They would be expected to be SCOD for Intensive Home Treatment Team and manage their allocations and whiteboard. Arrange and attend any escalation meetings, child protection meetings, professional meetings, multi-risk agency rmeetings

The post would suit someone who has an interest and/or experience in supporting young people in crisis. The right candidate will be able to work well under pressure, in the face of challenging situations and be confident in making autonomous decisions in the best interests of children, young people and their families.
Applicants must have a professional registration such as nursing, occupational therapy or social work to be shortlisted for this role.
This role requires two years post qualification experience.
