Location: Rugby, Warwickshire
Pay: Competitive (based on experience and qualifications)
The Role
As an English Teacher, you'll deliver engaging, curriculum-aligned lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. You'll play a vital role in helping students develop strong literacy skills, a love of reading, and the confidence to express themselves—both academically and creatively.
Key Responsibilities
* Teach English Language and Literature across KS3 and KS4
* Plan, deliver and assess high-quality lessons that meet the needs of all learners
* Use data and assessment to support progress and provide timely feedback
* Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes engagement and ambition
* Collaborate with the English department on planning, moderation and enrichment activities
* Contribute to whole-school literacy and learning initiatives
The Ideal Candidate Will
* Hold QTS or an equivalent UK-recognised teaching qualification (ECTs encouraged to apply)
* Have recent experience teaching English in a secondary school setting
* Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and creative lesson planning
* Be confident in behaviour management and building positive relationships with students
* Have a passion for English and a commitment to improving student outcomes
* Hold (or be willing to apply for) an Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service
