About Us: Pulse is a leading recruitment agency specializing in healthcare staffing. We are currently seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist with expertise in Old Age Psychiatry to join an established team in Cornwall. This role involves working within Community Mental Health Teams (CMHT)/Inpatient settings, requiring Section 12 approval.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide high-quality psychiatric assessments and treatments to older adults within the community and inpatient settings.
* Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including psychologists, nurses, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
* Offer expert guidance on the management of mental health conditions in older adults, including dementia, depression, and other related disorders.
* Assess and manage risk, ensuring the safety and well-being of patients.
* Contribute to the development and implementation of care plans, taking into consideration the individual needs of patients.
* Provide supervision and support to junior medical staff and contribute to the continuous professional development of the team.
Requirements:
* Full GMC registration and license to practice.
* CCT in Old Age Psychiatry or equivalent.
* Proven experience working as a Consultant Psychiatrist with a focus on Old Age Psychiatry.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
