Laboratory Technician opportunity within the Steel Melting industry based in West Bromwich, B70 paying up to £30,000
Our client is part of an award winning, internationally recognised business that supplies their finished products to the aerospace, surgical implants and power generation industries amongst others.
The role of Laboratory Technician will be responsible for chemical analysis of raw materials, process samples, and finished steel as well as Cobalt and nickel alloy products. The role ensures that all testing supports production quality, process control and customer requirements.
1. preparation of samples using various methods, lathe's, bandsaw, table cutter, drill and others
2. preparation and analysis of various pure metals/alloys and chemical samples using XRF, ICP, Analytix, Milestone and LECO equipment to determine qualitative and quantitative chemistry's of elemental and gas content results
3. preparation of certificates of analysis in accordance with customer specifications reporting to laboratory management
4. interaction with commercial and operations staff to assess the priority of multiple tasks and the order in which they need to be completed
5. providing support to the existing laboratory manager and technicians with day-to-day tasks to keep a smooth work flow and on time testing
