About this Role
We are looking for a Catering Assistant Apprentice to join our catering team! You will be joining at an exciting time, in a busy school kitchen, preparing and serving meals and snacks to students and staff. The successful candidate will demonstrate a passion for preparing and presenting food, and be able to communicate effectively with staff, students and visitors. You will benefit from a high degree of hands-on experience and on the job training leading you to become more experienced and confident as the Apprenticeship programme progresses.
The role is 30 hours per week Monday to Friday (7:30am to 2:00pm including a 30 minute unpaid break) and term time only (38 weeks per year). The position is fixed term in line with the apprenticeship scheme (17 to 20 months).
Training will be provided by South Devon College as part of the Production Chef Level 2 course. One day per week will be spent at South Devon College to cover knowledge modules as part of the apprenticeship and the rest of the time, the role will be in our school.
