Job Overview
We are seeking enthusiastic, motivated, full-time Medical Laboratory Assistants (Band 3) to join the Histopathology Department at Airedale General Hospital and Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Responsibilities
1. Undertake supervised training and competency assessment in tasks such as embedding, microtomy, and staining of tissue samples.
2. Engage in digital pathology activities.
3. Support clinical personnel during tissue dissection.
4. Perform routine tasks including receipt of specimens, assisting with dissection, data entry, and filing of blocks and slides.
5. Organize histology slides for digital scanning.
6. Liaise with Biomedical Scientists to ensure effective workflow.
7. Maintain equipment according to SOPs.
8. Train in microtomy and performing special stains to a competent level.
