Base pay range

As a Female Support Worker in Llantwit Major, you’ll help make the everyday remarkable for the people we support. We are dedicated to supporting those with learning disabilities to live a fulfilled and enriched life in the community, as a Support Worker, you can play a vital role in this.

Note: Due to the personal care needs of the people we support, this role is exempt under the Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, and Part 1. Section 7(2)(e) of the Sex Discrimination Act 1975, and is therefore open to female applicants only.


Role and location

Role: Female Support Worker
Location: Llantwit Major, Vale of Glamorgan


Hours and shifts

Hours: Part time (minimum 10 hours per week) and full time (maximum 40 hours per week). Your shift pattern could include weekends and sleep-ins.


Salary and benefits

Salary: £12.74 per hour and our sleep-in shifts at £60 per night; travel expenses paid at 45p per mile.

Contract: Permanent

What you’ll be doing

You’ll play a key role in helping shape and build this new care and support service from the ground up. As the service evolves, there will be opportunities for your own development and growth as we discover what delivers the best outcomes. You’ll be supporting four individuals in their own home, each with different needs and personalities. This includes supporting one person who experiences OCD and another who requires some personal care. They enjoy eating out, going to farms and gardening at the allotments. They require minimal support but there may be some challenging behaviour involved. Your goal is to make the everyday remarkable through enhancing well-being and focusing on the small, meaningful moments that bring joy and purpose. By offering this kind of person-centred support, this role is rewarding for the right person.


Who we are looking for

No experience required as full training is provided. We’d love to hear from you if you:

* have patience and empathy
* can support a person with their intimate personal care with respect and dignity
* have strong communication and teamwork skills
* are able to speak on behalf of others as well as to a range of professional people
* have good written skills and the ability to record events with empathy and meaning
* have afull driving licence - essential for transporting individuals to appointments and activities
