Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Shipper/Receiver to join our warehouse team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the efficient management of shipping and receiving operations, ensuring that all materials are handled correctly and safely. This position requires a strong understanding of warehouse processes and the ability to operate various equipment, including forklifts.
Duties
* Load and unload goods from lorries and containers, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
* Accurately record incoming and outgoing shipments using a Warehouse Management System (WMS).
* Inspect shipments for accuracy and quality, reporting any discrepancies or damages.
* Manage inventory levels by conducting regular stock checks and maintaining accurate records.
* Operate forklifts and other materials handling equipment safely and efficiently.
* Collaborate with team members to ensure timely processing of shipments and adherence to safety protocols.
* Maintain a clean and organised work environment, following health and safety regulations.
* Assist with heavy lifting as required, ensuring proper techniques are used to prevent injury.
Qualifications
* Previous warehouse experience is essential, with a solid understanding of shipping and receiving processes.
* Forklift certification is highly desirable; candidates should be comfortable operating heavy machinery.
* Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) is an advantage.
* Strong mechanical knowledge to assist with equipment maintenance as needed.
* Experience in construction or similar fields is beneficial but not mandatory.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting consistently throughout the shift.
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills are crucial for success in this role.
