Responsibilities
for the Paralegal role include but not limited to:
1. Assisting with the progression of conveyancing files from instruction to post-completion
2. Drafting and preparing legal documents, including contracts, transfer deeds, and completion statements.
3. Conducting legal research and handling property searches (e.g., Land Registry, local authority).
4. Liaising with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders, and solicitors to progress transactions efficiently.
5. Ensuring all files comply with regulatory and procedural requirements, including anti-money laundering checks.
6. Managing case files using a case management system and maintaining accurate records.
7. Handling telephone and email queries in a timely and professional manner.
8. Providing general administrative support to the team where needed.
Key Skills and Experience required for the Paralegal role
9. Previous experience in a conveyancing or property law environment is essential.
10. Good understanding of the conveyancing process (residential and/or commercial).
11. Proficiency in using case management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
12. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
13. Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage workload effectively.
14. High attention to detail and accuracy.
15. A client-focused and professional attitude.
16. Law degree, LPC, or CILEx qualification – desirable but not essential.
17. Previous experience in post-completion matters and dealing with the Land Registry.
