Customer Service Agent
We're a growing business in the waste management sector, with a strong focus on customer service and lead generation. We have close to 40,000 customers across various sectors in the UK, and we're expanding fast. We work predominantly with SMEs, supporting business owners in navigating the world of waste. We support them with day-to-day operations, offer advice and guidance on legislation, and handle their relationship with their waste supplier on their behalf so they can get on with running their business. Our aim is to remove the hassle and stress for them. We work with a diverse mix of businesses, ranging from hairdressers and beauty salons to care facilities, schools, hospitality venues, and dental practices. Everyone needs to dispose of waste safely and legally, so no matter the business type, we are here to help. We are looking for a motivated and friendly Customer Service Agent to join our dynamic team. What You'll Do
* Handle inbound and outbound customer calls professionally and efficiently
* The role operates in a performance-driven environment, with clear call handling metrics and KPIs to achieve exceptional customer experience and quality.
* Resolve customer enquiries at first point of contact where possible
* Accurately capture customer information and update systems in real time
* Manage customer expectations and handle complaints with empathy and professionalism
* Work with external suppliers to improve our overall customer experience
* Work collaboratively with colleagues and support teams to resolve more complex issues
* Meet individual and team performance targets while maintaining service quality
What We're Looking For
* Previous experience in a contact centre or customer service role (desirable, not essential)
* Comfortable working with targets, KPIs and performance measures
* Desire to help customers and improve their journey with us to make a difference
* Strong verbal communication and active listening skills
* Ability to remain calm and professional in high-volume or challenging situations
* Good IT skills and confidence using multiple systems at once
* A positive attitude, resilience, and willingness to learn
* Commitment to delivering excellent customer service
