We are seeking an experienced Head Waiter to lead our front-of-house service team and ensure the highest standards of customer care.
Role Overview
The Head Waiter will oversee daily dining room operations, lead the service team, and ensure smooth coordination between front-of-house and kitchen staff. This role requires a balance of leadership, attention to detail, and a passion for delivering outstanding hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead, train, and supervise waiting staff to deliver excellent service.
· Greet and seat guests, ensuring they feel welcomed and valued.
· Maintain in-depth knowledge of the menu, including Indian and Sri Lankan dishes, allergens, and pairing recommendations.
· Assist guests with menu choices, upselling specials and beverages where appropriate.
· Manage table allocations and reservations for efficient service flow.
· Liaise with the kitchen to ensure orders are delivered accurately and on time.
· Handle guest feedback and resolve complaints in a professional manner.
· Ensure service areas are clean, organized, and in line with health & safety standards.
· Support the Restaurant Manager with staff scheduling and training.
· Monitor team performance, providing guidance and motivation.
· Uphold and promote the restaurant's brand, culture, and hospitality standards.
Requirements
· Previous experience as a Head Waiter / Senior Waiter in a restaurant (Indian, Sri Lankan, or Asian cuisine preferred).
· Strong leadership and communication skills.
· Excellent customer service and interpersonal abilities.
· Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
· Knowledge of food & beverage service standards.
· Professional appearance and positive attitude.
· Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
· Health and Safety Level 1 Certificate
· Food and Hygienic Level 1 Certificate
