We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lecturer in Motor Vehicle to join our vibrant College team. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality teaching and assessment across a range of Motor Vehicle courses from Level 1 to Level 4 (HND), supporting students throughout their learning journey and contributing to their success.
You will be responsible for course co-ordination, internal verification/moderation, and working collaboratively with staff and employers to ensure outstanding learning experiences. This role demands creativity, enthusiasm, and a commitment to delivering engaging and effective education.
Key Responsibilities
1. Teach and assess Motor Vehicle courses, ensuring teaching standards meet or exceed College expectations.
2. Develop and deliver course materials, schemes of work, and learner support plans.
3. Monitor student progress, set SMART targets, and provide constructive feedback to motivate learners.
4. Support students in improving their English and maths skills through integrated learning activities.
5. Coordinate work experience placements and liaise with employers to enhance student employability.
6. Participate in recruitment, enrolment, open days, and student support activities.
7. Uphold high standards of Health & Safety within the department and across College premises.
8. Contribute to quality assurance through internal verification and compliance with awarding body standards.
Person Specification
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
9. Level 5 Teaching qualification (e.g. DTTLS, Diploma in Education and Training, Cert Ed or PGCE)
10. Relevant Motor Vehicle qualifications at Level 3 or 4, HND, degree or professional industry qualifications
11. Assessor Award (A1/TQA/CAVA)
12. Recent, comprehensive experience working in the Motor Vehicle industry
13. Strong knowledge of current vocational initiatives and sector developments
14. Experience of teaching or working within Further or Higher Education is desirable
