A specialist school in Dibden is seeking an English Teacher who can bring creativity, patience and adaptability to a setting where pupils need far more than a standard classroom experience.
The school supports pupils aged 7-16 with a wide range of complex needs, including SEMH, ASC, communication differences, attachment-related needs, and school-based anxiety. Your Role
This role is ideal for an English Teacher who enjoys thinking differently about curriculum and engagement. You will:
* Teach English across Years 7-11, adapting content for pupils working at a wide range of levels
* Support learners working toward Entry Level, Functional Skills or GCSE pathways
* Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils who may present with emotional or behavioural challenges
* Create a classroom environment that is structured, predictable and genuinely nurturing
* Work closely with therapists, support staff and pastoral teams to ensure a joined-up approach

What You'll Need
* Right to work in the UK
* QTS with English specialism or strong English-teaching experience
* Experience teaching English at KS3 and/or KS4
* Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
* References covering the last 24 months
Preferential Experience
* Experience working with SEND, particularly pupils with complex needs
* Confidence delivering English to learners working significantly below age-related expectations
* Experience in specialist, alternative or therapeutic settings
* Understanding of SEMH, trauma-informed approaches and behaviour support
