The Opportunity
We are seeking a proactive and experienced SHE & Compliance Manager to lead our safety, health, environmental, and compliance functions. This is a pivotal role ensuring our operations meet all legislative and regulatory requirements while promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Health, Safety & Environmental (SHE):
* Develop and maintain SHE policies and procedures
* Conduct risk assessments and accident/incident investigations
* Manage the Integrated Management System (IMS)
* Liaise with the DGSA and promote SHE awareness across the business
* Deliver Toolbox Talks and internal audits
* Oversee PPE stock and distribution
* Support SHE requirements for new business implementation
Compliance & Operator Licensing:
* Ensure compliance with Operator Licence regulations
* Conduct vehicle maintenance and driver defect audits
* Manage tachograph analysis and driver training
* Maintain FORS accreditation and lead compliance reporting
* Attend and contribute to operational meetings
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
* NEBOSH or equivalent qualification
* Strong understanding of logistics compliance and safety standards
* Excellent IT and data analysis skills
* Confident decision-maker with strong leadership and communication abilities
* Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
* CPC (National/International – Road Haulage)
* DGSA certification
* FORS Practitioner Certificate
