Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Vibration Engineer to join the Experimental Vibration team which is part of the Test & Experimental Engineering group in Engineering, Technology and Safety.
This is fantastic opportunity to join around 20 other vibration engineers working across multiple projects and multiple SCUs in both Derby and Bristol. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a number of Rolls-Royce's top technologies. You will also have the opportunity to work across a number of different areas from the specification and management of component testing through to the analysis of whole engine vibration characteristics and vibration health monitoring. The Experimental Vibration team are also responsible for the development and deployment of new vibration analysis and testing capability
In this position your role you may include:The monitoring and trending of customer engine vibration data to identify changes in characteristics and potential issues Support to the operational service desk (OSD) for any on-wing vibration alertsSupport to Test Quality and Rolls-Royce overhaul and production facilities with the analysis of engine vibration data to support engine rework and work scopesSupport of Engine Development Programmes with the analysis and interpretation of dynamic dataManagement and specification of component testing at the Mechanical Test Operation Centre in RRD and other test houses in the supply chainDevelopment of vibration analysis and testing capabilityImpact testing and modal testing of engine hardwareThe specification and development of new analysis tools and capability.
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, inquisitive and have good problem solving skills. A familiarity with Matlab and with the whole engine would be beneficial but not essential.
Qualifications/Experiences:
Degree preferred but not essentialMatLab experienceExcellent problem solving skillsStrong communication and customer service skillsPrevious experience in an engineering discipline ideally whole engine or development
