As a placement student in our Middle Office department, you'll be at the heart of our business, gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic commodity trading environment. You will be trained on market risk, positions, and P&L reporting with a focus on physical commodity and options trading strategies. You will be challenged to develop new models and bring new ad-hoc developments and improvements to the daily Middle Office tasks as well as helping to provide the group with valuable efforts in process enhancements.
Responsibilities:
* P&L Attribution: Learn how to dissect and explain profit and loss drivers within various business sectors (power, gas, environmental markets, agriculture, metals).
* Understanding Exposure: Work closely with a trading desk to understand and report their key exposures and strategies (linear and nonlinear commodity risks, FX and IR).
* Collaboration: Work closely with traders and wider middle office team providing support and analysis on day to day trading activities.
* Automation: Contribute to streamlining our processes by helping develop automation tools, a key focus of our team.
