Job Description
As a Wok Chef at Din Tai Fung UK, you will play a crucial role in supporting our back kitchen team and ensuring smooth service. Your main responsibilities will include:
Prepare, cook, and serve high-quality wok dishes, noodle dishes, and appetisers
Operate your chef station with precision and attention to detail
Maintain high standards of food hygiene, stock rotation, and kitchen cleanliness
Train and support junior kitchen team members
Work collaboratively with a team of passionate chefs during busy services
Ensure consistency, portion control, and fast service in a high-volume kitchen
Who You Are
We are looking for a Wok Chef who is enthusiastic, hardworking, and thrives in a dynamic and busy environment. Ideally, you will have:
Have previous experience in a Chef de Partie, Wok Chef, Noodle Chef, or Commis Chef role
Have worked in an Asian kitchen, Taiwanese restaurant, Chinese restaurant, or other pan-Asian cuisine
Understand traditional Chinese cooking techniques (wok hei, noodle pulling, etc.)
Have strong knife skills, excellent prep technique, and kitchen discipline
Are motivated, reliable, and looking for a long-term chef career with us
Flexible availability to work full time, including weekends, evenings, and holidays, with shifts that may run as late 10:30 PM

What We Offer
Competitive Pay: Hourly rates (including troncs) start at £14 for Commis Chef, £16 for Chef de Partie
Working Week: 5 days per week on a rota basis throughout Monday to Sunday; night shifts may run as late as 10:30 PM
Contracted Hours: 40~48 hours per week
Location: Hiring for Central London (Covent Garden, Centre Point, Selfridges and Canary Wharf)
