Job overview An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint an enthusiastic, experienced B7 nurse to join our forward thinking, progressive Nursing Team as a ward manager/ shift leader responsible for the clinical management of our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) on a shift by shift basis. We are looking for an experienced ICU nurse to lead the nursing team and support the Matron in ICU. To have joint responsibility of the Unit Sisters/charge nurses for the operational management and service delivery processes within the Critical Care Unit. This includes line management of staff, managing and monitoring resources within a defined budget and contributing to the corporate agenda. To lead and promote a quality service using research and evidence based practice including the setting and monitoring of clinical standards. To act as the senior clinical lead within the Unit on a shift basis. To ensure safe staffing within the unit. Rotation onto night and day shifts. Involved in quality improvement project. Advert The post holder will be one of the Team Leaders responsible for the continuous day to day clinical management of Critical Care. To be responsible for the immediate management of critically ill patients in the department and in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team ensure that patients receive optimum care.
