About the Role As our new HR Assistant, you’ll be the first point of contact for HR queries and play a vital part in supporting the day-to-day HR operations across the College. You’ll be involved in a wide range of activities — from recruitment and onboarding to absence tracking and HR reporting — helping us provide an excellent employee experience for our staff. This is a part-time opportunity (0.8 FTE) worked over five days, ideal for someone who wants to make a big impact within a supportive and forward-thinking organisation. Key Responsibilities Be the friendly first point of contact for HR queries via phone, email, or in-person. Support recruitment campaigns, from advertising to organising interviews and onboarding new starters. Draft and issue employment contracts and offer letters with accuracy and care. Maintain accurate HR records and support with system updates and reporting. Support wider HR projects, including wellbeing initiatives, EDI programmes, and learning and development activities. Assist in coordinating agency cover, managing absence documentation, and ensuring compliance with safer recruitment practices. About You We’re looking for someone who is proactive, organised, and ready to learn. You don’t need to be an expert, but an interest in HR and the drive to develop is essential. What you’ll bring: CIPD Level 3 or a desire to work towards it. Previous admin experience (ideally in a HR or education environment). Basic knowledge of UK employment law and HR practices. Excellent communication skills and a warm, professional approach. Strong organisational skills with an eye for detail and a proactive mindset. Why Join Hull College?
