Responsibilities
1. Properly utilize the nursing process in caring for patients by maintaining relevant, accurate, and current patient records, as evidenced by Nursing PI activities.
2. Provide documentation of patient assessments throughout hospital admission, including physical, psychological, social dimensions, and discharge plans. Summarize assessment data and initiate care plans, communicating pertinent data to allied care providers.
3. Demonstrate proficiency in the role of charge nurse.
4. Show proficiency in Computerized Nursing Informatics systems.
5. Serve as a resource person regarding patient care, orientation, and staff teaching.
6. Participate in identifying care aspects, monitoring quality indicators, and evaluating care, adhering to safety and blood/body fluid policies.
7. Assess personal learning needs, maintain documentation of professional development, stay updated on techniques and regulations relevant to patient age groups, and participate in Nursing Committees.
8. Represent the hospital in the community and internally, maintaining confidentiality and promoting hospital services.
9. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Critical Care RN Requirements
* Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred.
* Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Massachusetts.
* Basic Life Support (BLS) and ACLS certifications required, with ongoing maintenance.
* Passage of FH’s Pharmacology exam and Basic Arrhythmia course or challenge exam.
* English communication skills.
* One to two years recent critical care experience required.
* CCRN certification preferred.
* CPI certification within 4 months of hire, with ongoing maintenance.
* Skills in IV administration, telemetry, ventilator care, and IV starts required.
Position Purpose
Delivers patient care via the nursing process, administers medications, guides care and teaching, and maintains professional standards.
Schedule & Location
72PP (36 hrs/week), rotating nights, 7 pm-7 am, every other weekend and holidays. Sign-On Bonus eligible.
Location: Falmouth Hospital, Massachusetts.
