With our continued growth, we're looking for a dynamic Operations Manager to join our team at PCS powered by Rubix.
Role Overview:
As an Operations Manager, as part of the site leadership team, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day operations. You will be responsible for overseeing the production, delivery, and quality of services/products, while also driving operational improvements and efficiencies across departments.
Key Responsibilities:
* Be the H&S point of contact and liaise with others for fire and first aid.
* Be responsible for the purchase order process from receiving into Matara to dispatch to the customer, ensuring on-time delivery and staying within budget without impacting quality.
* Manage and lead a team.
* Efficiently plan the workload for the team and machines.
* Record, monitor, and manage production KPIs.
* Organize machine maintenance and proactive preventative maintenance.
* Manage calibration of equipment and maintain the calibration register.
* Liaise and communicate with customers regarding delayed orders and complete the relevant customer order reports.
* Visit customers to promote sales, provide technical support, and address any quality issues.
* Provide technical support to the sales teams when quoting for new business.
* Complete relevant NCR logs.
* Develop and implement quality policies and procedures.
* Generate Root Cause Countermeasures (RCCM) for production and quality KPIs.
* Liaise with Purchasing & Stores to ensure correct and timely purchases.
* Participate in meetings with customers and suppliers as necessary.
* Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with staff and generate PDRs.
* Manage HR duties including training, absence management, probation reviews, and recruitment.
* Carry out weekly production meetings.
* Participate in generating forecasts and actions to meet those forecasts.
* Be an active member of the Management Team and a respected leader of the business.
* Perform other ad hoc duties as required by the business.
Key Requirements:
* Demonstrable experience managing an engineering factory.
* Strong understanding of H&S (preferably NEBOSH trained).
* Effective communication skills.
* Effective management of people.
* Knowledge and understanding of Lean principles.
* Experience in setting and achieving targets.
