I’m currently working with a well-established RC Frame & Groundworks subcontractor turning over circa £35m per annum, delivering major structural packages on projects typically valued up to £10m.
With a strong pipeline of work secured, the business is now looking to bring on an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial team across a portfolio of live projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career to develop within a reputable specialist contractor and gain hands-on exposure to complex, high-value projects.
The Role Reporting into a Senior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager, your responsibilities will include:
* Assisting with the commercial management of RC frame and groundworks packages
* Supporting with valuations, variations, cost reporting and final accounts
* Working closely with site and operational teams to track progress and costs
* Assisting in subcontractor procurement and account management
* Helping to maintain accurate commercial records and forecasts
You’ll be given structured support, mentoring and the opportunity to take on more responsibility as you progress.
The Ideal Candidate You will:
* Have at least 1 year’s experience in a Quantity Surveying or commercial role
* Hold a commercial degree (Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management)
* Ideally have some exposure to RC frames, groundworks or civil engineering, although this is not essential
* Be motivated, detail-oriented and keen to develop a long-term career in commercial management
* Have good communication skills and the confidence to work with site and commercial teams
