Role: Head of Communications
Salary: Circa £100,000 + £12,000 flex allowance + up to 40% bonus + benefits
Role purpose: Are you a strategic communications leader with a passion for aviation? London Gatwick Airport seeks a Head of Communications to lead media, internal, and digital communications, shaping and implementing strategies, managing websites and social media, and producing engaging content. You will report, evaluate, and foster innovation within the Communications and External Affairs team.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement comprehensive communications strategies covering media relations, digital, social media, and internal communications.
2. Engage and inform employees across functions to build trust and advocacy.
3. Guide and train senior leaders on media and digital communications.
4. Lead the evolution of the airport's website and social media strategies for the next 2-3 years.
5. Build and develop a high-performing, recognized communications team.
6. Support crisis and incident communications as part of the on-call team.
7. Establish relationships with investor teams and utilize available tools effectively.
Experience Required:
* Formal qualification in communications or related field, or equivalent experience.
* Proven success in strategic/internal digital communications in fast-paced environments.
* Experience managing communications during organizational change and transformation.
* Strong leadership and team management skills.
* Extensive crisis management experience, including interactions with regulators.
* Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills across diverse stakeholders.
