Assembly Shift Team Leader sought by a global, £multibillion plastics manufacturer with close to 200 locations worldwide.
Initial Fixed Term Contract for 3 months with scope for extension. 30 hours per week on afternoon shifts: Monday to Thursday 5pm – 11pm, Friday 1pm – 7pm.
The Role:
* Supervise employees on the assembly line, providing clear instructions and constructive feedback to meet production timescales and quality standards.
* Provide detailed guidance, monitor for potential disruptions, troubleshoot, and ensure prompt resolution.
* Coach new or less experienced colleagues to perform their role according to agreed processes and procedures.
* Offer insight and suggestions to the Site Manager on process improvements for peak productivity and efficiency.
* Hold key responsibility for meeting shift objectives.
Your Experience as Assembly Shift Team Leader:
* Previous experience in light production and hands‑on assembly work.
* Fabrication experience desirable.
* Ability to lead with empathy and approachability.
* Understand and deliver instructions, providing training when necessary.
* Work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
* Work independently, take ownership of production, and possess a basic understanding of production flow with a quality‑focused mindset.
* Good knowledge of manufacturing safety protocols and regulations.
* CNC experience desirable.
* Forklift licence advantageous but not essential.
* Solid understanding of production machinery and proper assembly procedures advantageous but not essential.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics advantageous but not essential.
Benefits:
* £15.19 per hour (£23,696.40 per annum on 30 hours per week).
* £1,000 per month shift allowance (£12,000 per annum).
