About The Role
We are looking for a Self-Employed Drivers or Mates or a team to deliver large items.
* Work Schedule: Minimum 5 days a week across a 7-day schedule. You must provide and work alongside a Drivers Mate of your choice.
* Pay: Weekly payments. The rate is based on an average route, equivalent to an average shift length of 8-10 hours per day (though this may vary). Starting pay is £13.25 per hour.
* Support: We provide the van, fuel, insurance, and round-the-clock support.
Requirements
We are looking for candidates who are passionate about customer service.
* Must be over 21 (for insurance purposes).
* Must hold a full UK driving licence for at least 2 years, with a maximum of 6 points.
* Must be able to provide and work with a Drivers Mate of your choice.
* May be required to undertake a DBS Check.
* Must be able to speak and write in English to enable us to deliver exceptional customer service.
Essential Qualities and Skills:
* Physically fit and able to lift furniture.
* Honest and responsible attitude towards customers' property.
* Friendly manner and excellent communication skills.
* Reliable and committed to making all scheduled shifts.
* Ability to work effectively within a small team.
* Strong organisational skills for loading items (like Tetris).
* Excellent driving skills.
* Basic DIY skills.
Key Responsibilities
Collections:
* Complete collections from customers' properties.
* Ensure high-standard quality control, checking items for damage and verifying fire labels on furnished items.
* Adhere to health and safety/manual handling guidelines when removing items.
* Maintain a high level of customer service, handling queries with sensitivity and understanding.
Deliveries:
* Successfully complete deliveries, ensuring job numbers are correct.
* Adhere to health and safety/manual handling guidelines when delivering items.
* Be considerate of customers' properties and surroundings to prevent damage to deliveries or property.
Van Management:
* Drive safely, adhering to all road laws and regulations.
* Keep the van clean, presentable, and well-maintained.
* Conduct daily van checks and weekly inspections, reporting any damage or faults immediately.
Customer Service & Communication:
* Be well-presented and wear a uniform at all times.
* Maintain a good rapport and communication with the Charities you service.
* Keep customers updated if collection or delivery times fall outside of expected slots.
* Report any operational issues to the office immediately.
* Communicate any issues to customers in a polite and friendly manner.
