About The Role Contract: Permanent Salary: £39,513 - £43,693 Hours: 37 Location: Hereford Closing Date: 31/08/2025 The role Are you passionate about the role culture plays in wellbeing, identity and place? This is an exciting time to join Herefordshire Council as we invest in cultural infrastructure and support the county’s creative growth. You'll join a dynamic team working to embed arts, heritage and culture across health, education, economy and placemaking. We’re delivering a bold programme of cultural development, from the museum and library redevelopment to Our Place and expanded partnership working through the Herefordshire Cultural Partnership. Our ambition is for a Herefordshire where everyone can shape and enjoy cultural life. This role is vital to supporting that vision and strengthening the cultural sector through joined-up planning, targeted investment and inclusive programming. What will you be doing? As Cultural Development Officer, you’ll take a leading role in delivering the county’s Cultural Strategy and strengthening Herefordshire’s cultural ecosystem. You will: Support the Herefordshire Cultural Partnership and deliver the Cultural Strategy implementation plan Manage cultural grant schemes and funded programmes, including Our Place (Arts Council England) Build collaborative relationships with artists, organisations, funders and communities Embed culture in public health, planning, economic development and tourism initiatives About You You will have: Proven experience of managing and developing cultural programmes Excellent knowledge of the cultural sector and funding environment Strong partnership and communication skills The ability to manage grants, monitor impact, and deliver strategic plans This is an ideal role for someone looking to make a difference in a rural place with big ambitions.
