Post: 2 x Senior Occupational Therapist (Permanent)
Hours: 37 per week
Salary: Grade 10 (£42,839.00 to £46,142.00)
Location: Brierley Hill Health and Social Care Centre or various locations across Dudley borough
Role Overview
Your primary role will be to contribute to the provision of Occupational Therapy Services within Adult Care Services to promote independence, well-being and choice for older people and people with disability. You must have knowledge and experience of complex moving and handling cases and reablement provision within a community setting. You will need sound clinical judgement and experience managing casework, and expertise in the provision and fitting of standard/specialist equipment.
Key Responsibilities
* To meet the requirements of the professional regulator and to uphold the reputation of the profession and the Council.
* To work within the Professional Code of Conduct of Occupational Therapists.
* To undertake activities to support CPD and participate in the student placement program as per HCPC requirements.
* To manage and monitor a workload, organising work activities, prioritising and delegating or referring on as appropriate.
* To work in partnership with the people who use the service, their carers and other providers, respecting their views and promoting participation in decision making wherever possible whilst recognising the needs of all parties.
* To undertake assessment of need of service users who require a complex assessment, co-ordinating those assessments where multi-disciplinary input is required in accordance with the Directorates protocols.
* To provide functional assessments within the person's home environment.
* To aid with the progression of the person on a reablement pathway making use of exercise programmes and equipment to support progress of the person.
* To make recommendations, based on need for the provision of services, aids to daily living and adaptations.
* To signpost to other services as appropriate.
