Role Overview:
Responsible for supporting the Retail development of the Franchise business across all markets, focusing on business development and optimizing overall sales and profitability. Supports the Head of Brand Implementation & Central Operations & Local Franchise Partner.
The strategic objectives include working closely with the Franchise Retail and Operations manager to support the overall business direction. Acts as a brand guardian for the JD brand and global process.
The role of the Retail Onboarding & Development Manager
is to educate, nurture, and support franchise partners, ensuring teams are fully supported and driven to represent JD effectively. Equipped and supported to maximize sales and ensure stores meet global JD standards.
Key Duties/Responsibilities:
1. Coach all aspects of the day-to-day running of the Group's Franchising retail operation, including trade, operations, visual merchandising, training, and development.
2. Work with and support partners on all setup procedures to successfully launch franchises in each market.
3. Support forecasting, annual budgeting, cost control in line with JD global guidelines, and maximize store sales at various levels.
4. Coach franchise teams in store operations, team development, brand presentation, and customer experience.
5. Build strong cross-functional relationships within the organization and with franchise partners, ensuring collaboration across departments.
6. Use leadership and influencing skills to align stakeholders and achieve strategic goals, ensuring the successful delivery of projects and initiatives.
7. Organize regular retail and operations meetings to review processes, improve communication, and coordinate actions.
8. Support property strategy execution, including store openings and closures.
9. Troubleshoot operational issues, improving efficiencies and systems, aligning with JD global standards where possible.
10. Analyze complex data to derive insights and actions for the franchise team.
11. Coach compliance measures in operational activities to mitigate legal and financial risks.
12. Work with retail operations to provide strategy, guidance, and coaching to meet corporate standards.
13. Support business performance through training, visual merchandising, KPI management, sales growth, and operational efficiency.
14. Conduct in-market visits to ensure brand guidelines and JD DNA adherence, identifying further training needs.
15. Maintain training materials such as portals and manuals in line with global improvements.
16. Help drive franchise teams towards operational efficiency and visual excellence, maintaining a strong brand image.
People and Talent Management:
* Support leadership in building, developing, and coaching a high-performing retail team focused on quality, innovation, and operational excellence.
* Encourage and support franchise team development and motivation to achieve their objectives and grow the business.
* Develop and lead a capable team that can execute plans and scale as the business grows.
Skills/Experience/Knowledge needed:
* Experience in a similar role is essential.
* Willingness to work out of hours and travel as needed.
* Strong business acumen, including forecasting, budgeting, cost control, trade analysis, and reporting on a global scale.
* Proven ability to maximize store sales at various levels.
* Experience owning project vision, execution, quality, and stakeholder relationships.
* Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
* Ability to work within a multicultural, fast-paced environment.
* Clear understanding of the JD Brand and corporate strategy.
