Job Description:
Wood is currently hiring Senior, Principal, and Lead Control & Instrumentation Engineers on a contract basis with a hybrid working model.

Our Projects business unit specializes in delivering complex projects with new technologies and large-scale logistics, providing comprehensive services from project management to engineering, procurement, construction, and delivery.
These roles are based in our Reading office, with possible hybrid work arrangements.
Work scope:
* Provide practical technical solutions to operational challenges.
* Evaluate manufacturers for technical competence and compliance.
* Conduct technical studies and prepare reports for management review.
* Review engineering and design proposals for large projects.
* Develop and review engineering documentation, standards, and specifications (FEED).
* Experience with HAZOP/SIL and IEC 61511 standards.
* Collaborate with design engineers, operation engineers, and other stakeholders.
* Liaise with clients, suppliers, contractors, and authorities.

Minimum qualifications and experience:
* BSc in Electrical, Process, or Process Control Engineering.
* Extensive experience in instrument and control engineering in oil, gas, or petrochemical industries.
* Preferably Middle East project experience (gas plants, refineries).
* Deep knowledge of instrumentation and control systems, including flow, level, pressure, temperature, and process analysis.
* Experience in instrument selection for process applications.
* Knowledge of boiler, process heater, and furnace control systems.
* Understanding of materials and selection for instrumentation.
* Knowledge of electrical systems for instrumentation, including hazardous area design.
* Familiarity with standards such as ISA, ANSI, ASME, API, NFPA, IEC.
* Field experience in plant construction, commissioning, start-up, or operations.
* Experience with DCS, ESD, and Foundation Fieldbus systems.
* Experience with project vendor’s PCS and FAT processes.
* Proficiency in office and technical software.
* Excellent English communication skills.
