Main duties of the job
1. Undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations & emergencies, telephone consultations and queries, triaging, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, filing & actioning test results, patient medical reports and examinations, referral letters NHS/private/e-referral, paperwork and correspondence in a timely manner
2. Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems
3. Potentially out-of-hours (OOH) (where applicable) and extended hours as agreed by the partnership, including alternative sites.
4. Prescribing in accordance with locally/nationally agreed guidelines
5. In general the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care;
6. Maintaining a personal professional portfolio;
7. A commitment to cover annual leave within the practice for each other (Lead Partner and Salaried GPs);
8. A commitment to life-long learning and audit to ensure evidence-based best practice (including annual appraisals and revalidation);
9. On occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks commensurate with the role, dependent upon factors such as workload & staffing levels.
