Overview
We’re looking for an experienced AWS Solution Architect to join our team and help shape the cloud journey for some of the UK’s most critical systems. In this role, you’ll work closely with customers to define cloud strategies, design robust architectures, and ensure secure, scalable, and automated solutions that deliver real impact.
This is a unique opportunity to influence high-profile projects, guiding organisations through cloud migration while contributing to the security and resilience of national infrastructure.
Location: Manchester (3 days a week on site)
Salary: Up to £90,000 + 10% bonus

Responsibilities
* Lead the design and implementation of AWS cloud architectures for migration and new deployments.
* Define and maintain reference architectures, standards, and reusable patterns to support future projects.
* Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure consistent, automated, and efficient deployments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
* Conduct architectural reviews to optimise the use of AWS services and ensure solutions are well-architected.
* Provide guidance on security, networking, and performance considerations in cloud design.
* Support teams with troubleshooting, incident management, and migration optimisation.
* Drive the adoption of automation and CI/CD practices across multiple projects.
* Document solutions, standards, and reusable components to enable team-wide efficiency.
* Proven experience in AWS architecture and cloud migrations across multi-account environments.
* Deep knowledge of AWS services, cloud-native design, and infrastructure patterns.
* Strong understanding of security principles and cyber security goals in cloud environments.
* Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD tools.
* Agile mindset, able to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
* Excellent communication skills for both technical and business audiences.
* Ability to mentor and motivate teams to adopt best practices and new technologies.
* AWS certifications (Solutions Architect Associate or Professional, or AWS specialty certifications).
* Experience with Scaled Agile frameworks (SAFe, Scrum@Scale).
* Track record of mentoring engineers and supporting professional development.
* Experience in multi-cloud environments or hybrid architectures.
