Job Description
We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our on-site team working on advanced maritime lighting systems for submarines. This role is part of a high-profile project in delivering cutting-edge solutions for naval platforms.
You will contribute to the design, development, and refinement of mechanical components, ensuring high standards of functionality, reliability, and manufacturability.

Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and refine mechanical designs for submarine lighting systems.
* Produce accurate technical drawings and documentation for manufacturing.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including electrical engineers and systems integrators.
* Support prototyping, testing, and validation of mechanical components.
* Ensure designs meet stringent naval and safety standards.
* Apply Design for Manufacture (DFM) principles to optimise component production.
Qualifications
Required Skills:
* 5–10 years’ experience in mechanical design.
* Proven experience designing complex mechanical systems, ideally for maritime applications.
* Strong CAD skills (SolidWorks, Solid Edge, or equivalent).
* Experience creating production-ready technical drawings and documentation.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively on high-profile projects.
Required Qualifications:
* A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience.
Desirable Skills:
* Previous experience working on naval or submarine platforms.
* Exposure to lighting systems, electro-mechanical integration, or defence projects.
* Experience working on-site within a project delivery team.
