First Article Inspection Report (FAIR) Inspector.
A well-regarded engineering firm operating within a regulated manufacturing environment is seeking a detail-focused First Article Inspector to support quality control and compliance activities. This is a hands-on role requiring a solid grasp of inspection practices, drawing interpretation, and the end-to-end FAIR process.
Key Responsibilities for The First Article Inspector:

Perform thorough inspection of components using both manual tools and visual checks
*
Compile, review, and submit First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) in accordance with AS9102 standards
*
Upload and manage submissions via Net-Inspect or equivalent portals
*
Review documentation for accuracy and compliance before final approval
*
Work in alignment with established 5S procedures and safety protocols
*
Interpret complex engineering drawings, including sheet metal and assembly layouts, to verify tolerances and part conformity
*
Liaise with production and quality teams to resolve issues and maintain documentation accuracy
Essential Skills and Experience from The First Article Inspector:
*
Solid background in FAIR generation and submission within the aerospace or similarly regulated industry
*
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, ideally in aerospace sheet metal or assembly environments
*
Proficient in manual measuring techniques and use of standard inspection tools
*
Ability to confidently read technical drawings, with a clear understanding of geometric tolerances
*
Familiar with digital submission platforms such as Net-Inspect or similar systems
*
Competent in using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word
*
Strong documentation and organisational skills, with attention to detail across quality processes
